Journey II Wellness Mind Body Soul is for women who are battling with trying to lose weight, eat healthier, overcome fear, gain confidence, remove the negative thoughts and become the women that God created them to be. 

 

 

In 2013  my family and I moved from Jacksonville, FL to Southern California and my Journey II Wellness mentally, physically & spiritually began. Moving here, Being a hairstylist in Hollywood a place where your image, the way you look and the way you dress can make you or break you; I became really self-conscious about my weight gain. One day I got the opportunity to do the hair of a celebrity reality tv star. I was sharing with her that I really wanted to lose weight but I just didn't know where to start or what to do. She suggested that I try taking a class at the gym. Mind you working out wasn't something I enjoyed doing, as a matter of fact, I hated it. Sept 2016 I signed up for a gym membership at 24 Hour Fitness and I went for 2 weeks straight then I went on a hiatus for about 3 months. At the end of the 3rd month, I had made up in my mind that I had to do something different. I was tired of seeing my rolls. I was tired of wearing girdles, I was tired of not being able to shop where I wanted and wear what I wanted. I was tired of not having energy. I was tired of being ashamed to let my husband see me naked with the light on. I was ready to make a change. Honestly, I just didn't have the motivation, discipline nor consistency needed to achieve my weight loss goals. I didn't have the right mindset, as positive as I am, I wasn't that positive towards myself. Jan 1st, 2017 my health & wellness journey officially began. In the beginning, it was hard for me to stay motivated to work out. I didn't have anyone to work out with, I didn't have an accountability partner it was just me, myself and I. I fell in love with reading at the gym. It was reading You Are a Badass, listening to Les Brown motivational speech &  Tasha Cobb Break Every Chain that gave me the motivation I needed to keep on showing up at the gym on the days when I didn't feel like it. I read this book, listen to Les Brown & Tasha Cobb every time I went to the gym. I started out doing 15 mins of cardio every 2-3 days, to 30 mins of Cycling to 1 hour of Stair Masters, body pump & weight training now Mon-Fri. I went from eating southern home-cooked meals ( fried chicken, cornbread, pig feet, chitterlings) to becoming Pescatarian/Vegetarian going on 3 years now.  Through fasting, praying, transforming my mindset and changing my diet I have been able to lose 80 lbs, gain back my confidence, overcome fear and walk confidently in my purpose. With discipline, consistency, the right mindset and God I can do anything and so can you. I'm proof that you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. I am a firm believer in this. I got my mojo back!

Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is his good, pleasing and perfect will".

 

Journey II Wellness Mind Body Soul purpose is to to help women get their mojo back before and after-life happens, learn how to become more disciplined with eating healthier, learn how to create/ incorporate healthy routines in their day to day life, learn how to unlearn bad habits and negative thinking and replace them with healthy habits and positive thinking; Lastly, our purpose is to help women gain back their confidence so they can walk confidently in their purpose. I believe when you transform your mindset you will lose weight, fear will no longer control your destiny, you'll have confidence, positivity will become your way of thinking which will improve your life and your past will no longer hunt you yet it will ignite your purpose.

It is a monthly 10 Day Fitness Challenge that consists of reframing from eating certain foods. The purpose of doing this challenge is to create habit & disciplined. In order to lose weight, you first have to create healthier eating habits. We know the key to losing weight begins in the kitchen. It begins with what we eat.
